Facebook To Start Making Money From WhatsApp
Facebook has announce it decision to start making money from WhatsApp, one of it acquired subsidiary. Facebook-owned app announced this on Tuesday, the company will charge businesses that want to conduct customer support on the app.
WhatsApp’s program for businesses will charge large companies that want to be verified and have access to a suite of automated tools for helping and responding to customers.
Both the tools and a standalone app for businesses recently announced by WhatsApp are still under test. According to WhatsApp, the new uncovered development will simplify communication for people around the world.
Now we want to apply this approach to bring businesses onto WhatsApp in a way that creates value for peopl. WhatsApp Chief Operating Officer Matt Idema said in a statement shared with Business Insider.
We are looking forward to making it possible for people to connect with businesses in a faster and personal way, and giving businesses the tools to make that easier to do.
This new WhatsApp development will let businesses like airlines and banks field customer questions and provide updates for thing like flight time. This new development also include payments service.
However, the company is currently testing this business program privately with a handful of businesses around the world and has not said when it will make the program more widely available. Also, it has not said how much it will charge businesses for access to it different package plans.
